How does CSM certification work? A core prerequisite for certification as a Certified Scrum Master is, in addition to participation in a CSM course, to pass the online test at the Scrum Alliance. After the course, we will register you as a new member for the certification test. You will then receive a personalized link from the Scrum Alliance on the test page.

This link is valid for 90 days and for two attempts. Further trials are possible, but the Scrum Alliance requires an examination fee of $ 25 per trial. After passing the exam, a certificate is generated as a PDF document and your member status is updated with the Scrum Alliance.

The multiple choice test contains 35 questions (which vary per participant), of which at least 24 must be answered correctly. After the course you have 90 days to complete the test. If you pass  you will see the list of incorrectly answered questions together with the correct answers.

The test takes over an hour, but can be paused and continued. You can skip questions, go back and bookmark. At the end of the test, the test indicates unanswered questions. After the test you can look at the questions again, but you see the correct answers only if you passed the test.

After passing the exam, the CSM certificate can be renewed every two years. Scrum Alliance charges $ 100.

improuv is a "Registered Education Provider" of Scrum Alliance.
